Lavender Buff Brahma (LF) & Bantam Buff Brahma chicks

Thanks for the reply! So if you wanted to breed lavenders into a Columbian buff flock, you wouldn't get lavender buffs as a result right away. You would have to breed that first generation of chicks together to get the two recessive lavender genes? What if you bred a lavender buff into a...

Lavender Buff Brahma (LF) & Bantam Buff Brahma chicks

These are very pretty! Pardon my ignorance, but I have only heard of Lavender and Buff Brahmas. What are the Lavender Buffs? A mix of the two or something different entirely?

Constantly vibrating tail feathers on Maran cockeral

Did anyone see find anything out about this? I have a 4-5 week old brahma who I think is a cockerel and I have recently noticed his tail vibrating. He seems healthy otherwise 🤷🏼‍♀️

New chicks with bloody, loose poop but seem fine

Thank you so much for the detailed reply! Should I do anything for my adult hens, now or in the future when I integrate?

New chicks with bloody, loose poop but seem fine

I will also add that the lady I got them from had her chicks separate from her chickens but in the same yard/grassy area. Also, after observing them some more this morning I think the one with the poop issues might be eating and running around a bit less than his sister. He wants to go under...

New chicks with bloody, loose poop but seem fine

They are around 3-4 weeks old and I have had them for two days. I did take them out in a pen in the grass while I was doing yard work yesterday. Here are two pics of the same poop.

New chicks with bloody, loose poop but seem fine

Hi! I got two brahma chicks two days ago. They seem healthy when observing them, scratching, eating, drinking etc, but one has consistently runny, bloody poops. The other has solid yellowish poops. Obviously I am thinking coccidiosis. I am a little confused on how to treat though. I am already...

Unintended Chicken Rescue, what is going on with these two?

I can't say that when I first brought them home I practices good biosecurity. After I got these two situated I went to check on my flock in the coop and didn't change clothes. 🤦🏼‍♀️

Unintended Chicken Rescue, what is going on with these two?

Thank you! I thought maybe they might have scaly leg mites so soaked their legs this morning and applied Vaseline. Here are his legs from this evening. Also, she told me she got them from Murray McMurrary Hatchery, and I think they vaccinate their chicks?

Unintended Chicken Rescue, what is going on with these two?

I have had chickens and ducks for about a year and recently I decided to add a brahma rooster and hen to my flock of 5 hens and 3 ducks. I am part of a local-ish livestock Facebook group, and someone posted that they had a buff brahma hen and rooster that she would be willing to part with. She...
