Hello,
If I had to guess what your chickens had I would say Marek's disease. This effects the chicken's nervous system.
There is a lot if information in this article: https://www.backyardchickens.com/a/mareks-disease-fact-site
I have not had any personal experience with this disease, but a...
I am getting 1 Australorp, 1 Barred Rock, 1 Barnevelder, 1 Easter Egger, and 1 Welsummer.
I am getting them from My Pet Chicken.
They are hatching on June 23 and will come within that week. (Still a while away, but I am so excited!)
This is my second round of chicks.
I find that the pros outweigh the cons. They are fun little creatures and very enjoyable to watch. Also, eggs! It can be hard to find someone to look after them if you go away (on vacation for example).
We got ours for pets and eggs. A friend of ours has chickens and she asked us to raise some chicks for her. We said yes and feel in love with them. Now I can't imagine a life without chickens! I love their personalities and the eggs we get (almost) every day!
My friendliest is my Red Star, Hazel. She always comes running over to us and follows us around the yard. She will let us pick her up and never fights with the other chickens! I love her!
