Do I have an EE roo?

Oh neat! These were ebay eggs but the listed possible breeds included AC, and CCL. That little one was born entirely black and she just started developing a little crest. She is so so sweet. I bought blue and green hatching eggs because I had white and brown layers, but no colored layers. I'll...

Do I have an EE roo?

Oh dear, I was afraid of that. I thought the yellow one was bc it looks like it's got 3 rows in its comb, and it's coloring up like a boy. The blurry one is a blue maran/EE and acts very very boy, plus didn't grow a single tail feather for almost 2 weeks. 😂 I'm hoping the cemani/CCL is a girl...

Do I have an EE roo?

I hatched these babies on December 11th, so they're right at 5 weeks. I think this one is a roo, although the blueish olive egger acts way more roo. What do I have here? I'm at my limit of roos. 😬

Slow/bloody zip, can I do anything?

I didn't go any further than opening. I can open another that looks like it tried to pip internally but way too low. They all looked very very low in the eggs. I incubated them upright till lockdown because they all had bad air cells and I turned them by shifting them 45% degrees.

Slow/bloody zip, can I do anything?

SKIP THIS POST IF YOU DON'T WANT TO SEE A EGGTOPSY PICTURE I did an eggtopsy on egg number 3, who hadn't moved in days. The chick was shrink wrapped. I feel awful bc the eggs' seller had sent a note with the eggs that her Olandsk Dwarfs need at least 70% humidity at lock down. I dry...

Slow/bloody zip, can I do anything?

No chirping and no movement... nobody has moved position in at least 3 days. I ended up buying one baby bc the rest were too much older and would have smooshed Seven. He is so happy to have a friend. I didn't get pictures till they'd already gone to bed but here he is with Panda. She is so...

Slow/bloody zip, can I do anything?

Yes to the 24 hour question. 😊 I moved the other eggs to a backup incubator. There are still no pips, but one that maybe internally pipped although it looks too low. ☹ I'm picking up two Japanese bantam chicks in a few hours for Seven. He's a very feisty fluff this morning.

Slow/bloody zip, can I do anything?

I don't think any internally pipped. :( I had 15 shipped, 3 never developed, 2 red ringed early, 2 stopped right before lockdown. I had 8 in lockdown and egg number Seven looks like the only hatcher, poor little fluff. He's very chatty with happy chirps but I know he has to be lonely. If...

Slow/bloody zip, can I do anything?

Here's Seven, the lonely little one. Nobody else even pipped but I'll leave them in a few days. I haven't seen him poop yet, that can't be good, right? Also, he walks a bit like a penguin. I gave him a little Sav a chick electrolyte water and he's had a second bath to help his fluff. He still...

Slow/bloody zip, can I do anything?

Oh no, I didn't know that. I only wrapped it to carry it to the bathroom where I took him out. He is walking around but has a hard time keeping his head up and keeping his balance. He still has a few hard spots that aren't fluffing. I'm impressed that he made it as far as he did alone, poor...

Slow/bloody zip, can I do anything?

I did use a bit of Dawn immediately after hatching because his down was already cement. He's flopping around the incubator now playing soccer with his potential brothers and sisters. His left eye was very sticky but that came off pretty well and he's opening and closing his eyes well. Thank you...

Slow/bloody zip, can I do anything?

I guess this is a bit of unobsorbed yoke, but it was already hard/gummy by the time I started assisting. Does it look like his intestines are all internal? There's some red around the gummy yoke but I'm not sure what I'm looking at.

Slow/bloody zip, can I do anything?

He made no further progress, so I took the egg out wrapped in wet paper towel. He was completely stuck. I assisted and he's out but I had to clean muck/cement off his down. I feel awful. He's laying in the incubator chirping bit hasn't moved. :hit
