    I can't believe nobody has suggested electric fence. I lost whole flock to 3 racoons. before I replaced the hens, I installed 2 runs of fence on the outside of the chicken run, one about 6-8 inches off the ground and another about 15-18inches up. It has kept our flock of 54 birds safe ever...

    I had figured to cut it in sections to make it easier for them. eagles and other birds eat fish, but I'm not sure about the scales plugging them up. what kind of fish did you try?
