    We raise only Welsh Harlequin ducks so I have no comparison advice on noise etc. I agree with the bulk of the other commenters in that fencing and shelter are needed. We allow some of our ducks to freely free range as they never took to any sort of housing and have always stayed on the pond but...

    A bit late to the party but in the right season, I suppose. Do you have any eggs to sell? We have assorted colored Araucana pullets that need a fella. I have some scrap booking supplies to trade and cash, of course.

    Ducks free ranging... how to get them back inside at night

    Sadly, I can report our ducklings went on pasture 3 weeks ago and have not slept inside a duck house since. We do have a large pond they use for predator safety but we have had zero successful roosts once they were released.
