    Friendly Rooster?

I can definitely see that! Although the way his hackles are outlined I'm curious to know what he's mixed with. Too bad they don't have genetics testing for chickens like they do with dogs! Lol.

    Friendly Rooster?

Honestly, I'm not sure what he is... He's a gorgeous bird but just a barnyard mix. Any idea what he could be? He's definitely a big boy!

    Friendly Rooster?

Thanks for the info! He's a fairly "active" cockerel since this winter has been so mild in the Midwest. But he still lets me pick him up and doesn't bother me when I do the same with the hens. I guess I'll just keep doing whatever I'm doing and hope it stays that way! He doesn't bother my...

    Friendly Rooster?

So apparently eye pinning is a known thing with parrots and is just starting to be studied in chickens. It's a type of behavior that they exhibit when they're excited or possibly about to be aggressive. I'm not 100% sure on his age as we got him fairly young from a nearby farm. I'm thinking...

    Barnyard mix?

I agree but I guess what I'm asking is what breed/breeds does he look closest to? I know he's a barnyard mix but his feet are huge... Lol.

    Barnyard mix?

We got him from a friend... just a fellow chicken enthusiast... Not a breeder or anything which is why I'm pretty sure he's just a barnyard mix.

    Barnyard mix?

Hello all! I acquired a chicken that we thought was a hen at first... Turns out it's a roo! I'm pretty sure it's a barnyard mix but it's feet are HUGE! Any idea what breed(s) it could be? Thanks in advance!

    Breed and gender help!

From what I've been reading Easter Eggers are difficult to tell the difference when it comes to gender... I'm no expert! That's just what I've been reading. 😊

    Breed and gender help!

I totally agree! Like I said either way we're keeping it... It just seems really grateful for being rescued. 😊
