I have a rooster that is a pet. This is my first experience with chickens. He independently came to live with me. I have provided a 2 stall horse shed with coop and chicken wire so he is protected. He developed what I now know to be leg mites. Took to vet and got treatment. Now I need to figure out what to do after I clean the coop out to prevent bugs and diseases without killing the bird. He is currently in large kennel in my utility room recovering from the mites.
