    Looks dangerous to me. If they fall into that they could freeze to death even if they were able to get out of it.

    Yes and sadly I didn't know enough to help her. I did get her crop flushed out, and got out a lot of grass, but when I ended her life today, a lot of sour liquid came out so she was far from fixed, when I thought her crop was empty.

    Thank you...your words also helped when I did the broomstick method today. I did make sure my feet were holding down the rebar and to pull hard enough but not yank her head off.

    I want to suck the sour crop liquid out with a feeding tube from my chicken's crop but

    I have been able to massage her crop and get a lot of liquid out and there's lots of grass..but her crop just keeps filling up. I'm just shocked I'm able to do it on this one chicken and not the others. But she is not getting better. After seeing what's in her crop, in order to actually suck...

    I have no help...so an axe is out of the question, although I bought one for this purpose. I definitely do not want to prolong the chicken's suffering.

    Thank you..this is exactly the detail that I needed. The issue is I'm short...so will have to hold it closer to the body. But knowing to stretch out the bird is really helpful before giving the yank.

    How much of the ACS water were you giving the hen when she was not drinking? My hen is not drinking.
