    Mama duck not accepting baby

I could do that! I have a medium size dog crate I could put in the 10x10’ kennel with them! Right now she gets a lot of interaction from me and my 5 year old and is super attached :/ but I will try doing what you suggest just so maybe integration will be easier since she’s alone vs the other...

    Mama duck not accepting baby

So I put one of the other babies in with the small one but it is double its size and trying to attack it. I guess my only option is to get it feathered and slowly introduce to 19 other ducks…… somehow….

    Mama duck not accepting baby

Ok I will try to get one of the other ducklings to put with it but me and mama are going to have to wrestle to get one… she’s pretty protective of them!

    Mama duck not accepting baby

I had a duck hatch several eggs and one of them cracked and was bloody, it eventually hatched out and was lifeless and the mama duck was stepping all over it. So, I put it in the incubator for several days and it wouldn’t stand but just twitch its legs. Finally it started standing so I put it in...

    Gosling & Ducklings

Hello everyone, it’s been awhile since I’ve posted here! I have had the same 13 ducks for 2 years now and I have them trained to free range from morning until sunset. They will come back to their coop at sunset with no hassle and my favorite part, they come running and quacking to me when I...

    Niacin Supplement for ducks

I have 12 ducks, some are a year old and others are about 9 months old. I usually give them straight duck feed that is $30 for a bag but it’s hard to find now at my local farm store so I have been giving all flock pellets and add brewers yeast to their feed several times a week. When I do find...

Duck female attached to her mate

Thank you all. I’m attached to the three drakes I’ve had since may but I’m going to keep my saxony in hopes of getting a saxony female one day. And my mallard since he is small. I will keep them separated for a little while longer and also I’m going to try to get 3-4 more females and monitor.

Duck female attached to her mate

I’m thinking about keeping one or two of the drakes. If I keep two then I plan on getting at least 3 more females to have 10 females. I will still have to keep him separated from 5 of the females until they are another month or so older but I guess I could put the two females and him together...

Duck female attached to her mate

Ok so an all girl flock is fine without even 1 drake? I feel like she’s going to hate me bc she has nothing to do with the others.

Duck female attached to her mate

I have a quick question I have had 4 of my ducks since may but 3 are male and 1 female. I have 13 all together and discovered I have 6 males in total and 7 females. I have had to keep the older drakes separate from the females for several months now when locked up. Tomorrow I am selling all of...

    Duck sick?

Update: she’s still here. I gave her some molasses water flush this morning and she drank quite a bit of it. She took a bite of food (duck pellet that’s been soaked in water). Her poop is solid white with bright green in it. I start nursing school today so I won’t be able to check on her again...

    Duck sick?

I I’m wondering if it’s wry neck from what I’m reading. I don’t have any vitamin E but do have vitamin b complex for animals in iv form. Should I try that?
