    I can contact the feed store to ask re: the ingredients, but it's 17% protein and 3.5% calcium. All hens are fed the same diet and only one has these issues. They get treats every day and I try to limit to 10% of diet. They get mealworms, leftover veggies (mainly chard, spinach, cilantro)...

    My 5 girls are officially all laying! They are mycoplasma (MG) positive and our days are very cold and short, so we weren't sure how many eggs we'd be getting, but we recently had our first 5-egg day where everyone laid, and we are averaging over 3 eggs a day from our 5 ladies this month so far...

    Chickens eating shavings, should I be worried?

    When I first brought my pullets home, they were eating what I thought was an alarming amount of pine shavings. Especially when I changed the shavings! Luckily they seemed to grow out of it after a month or two, and none of them showed any negative symptoms. So I bet your girls will be fine.
