    I wouldnt think so. they are treated regularly and none of the other hens are affected with the same problem she has. To my knowledge she hasnt laid for the past 3 years either. Its almost like shes reached old age prior to the first moult.

    Sorry to hear that you lost your boy :( we introduced our boy to the girls today (he arrived yesterday) & one of the broody hens was having a pretty loud grumble, to which he was replying very attentively it seems. Yet to hear the other neighborhood roos answer but sure it wont be long lol

    lol wouldn't that be nice :). I put the valcro collar on loose-ish last night and could hear him at 5am (for 9 crows) and again at 6am for 19 crows. I have adjusted it a little more just now so fingers crossed we start seeing some kind of improvement. Hes not overly loud at the moment though...
