Sorry, I had chemo yesterday and wasn't up to responding.
Her comb and wattles are still red, but not hot. I put her and the whole flock on corid. She was better, more alert, yesterday. But she's a bit more lethargic today. We're just letting her rest in her box.
She's been nibbling food and...
She did take the calcium pill quite easily. I'll continue it for 7 days. Thank you for your help!
She will allow me to give her water via syringe, she will also take a small drink every once in a while. I'm going to offer more egg yolk this morning.
I did feel inside her vent and didn't immediately feel anything. Her abdomen is soft and normal, I couldn't feel an egg there, either.
We all love this girl so much. Her name is Princess and she lives up to her name. ❤️
She did eat yesterday. I'll keep her up with fluids, she's good at taking them with a syringe. It's not too hot in the house, but she is a fluffy cochin. We have the a/c on so I don't think it's the temp inside. I'm not sure what it is.
Thank you for talking me down, I'm just so worried about...
I'm not sure what to do. She won't eat anything. I've made mash, egg yolk (she took a couple of bites), dandelion greens (too weak to rip them, but will eat if I rip them up, but only a few bites), tomato (drinks the juice out of it, won't eat). I've given her sugar water with a syringe just to...
Thank you for your help! I was able to get 300 mg calcium citrate and vitamin D3 down her throat. Do I just do that once? She started drinking on her own. Not a lot, but a few drinks. She also ate a few meal worms.
She did eat a bit of egg yolk and had 6ml of water with poultry cell.
Her abdomen feels normal. Her head looks normal. Nose, mouth and eyes look normal. No lesions, bubbles or drainage, no mucous.
Thank you for your reply. Her crop was flat this morning. It's still flat because she's refusing food. We've given her water with a syringe.
I just checked, no external parasites.
She's laying down and sleeping a lot. She can walk fine, not wobbly. She's not beefy, but I wouldn't consider her skinny, either.
I'm grateful for your help, I'm sorry for your loss. We lost 4 girls last year and this is one of our spring newbies.
Thank you for your response. I have Corid. Here are photos of a fresh stool and her. This stool had some mucous in the middle. Its not as orange as it shows in the photo, it was more of a cream color.
I have a 6 month old cochin who has not started laying yet. This morning she had been laying in the coop while her sister was on the nest. I thought she was waiting her turn to lay her first egg. She's been squatting, red comb and wattles, eating shell and showing interest in the nest.
I...
I'll try to get a photo of the poop, it's hard as they're on sand in their run. Her eggs are beautiful. She's laying nearly daily and her shells are hard. Her comb is it's normal red. The only thing they ate recently that's not "normal" is a chunk of homemade sourdough bread.
I will say not...
