Fluffy is a good name for an Ameraucana. One of my favorite things about this breed is watching their plumage come in and their patterns and colors show up. Unlike RIRs or BOs you don't know quite what they will look like for months! I have six right now and they are so cute and colorful
Looks like an Ameraucana to me with those fluffy cheeks. I have a yellow Ameraucana chick right now too. Her feathers are coming in white so I named her Daisy
I'm pretty sure one of our white leghorns has ascites. I have her isolated with food and water in the brooder house and will attempt to drain tomorrow after I go to TSC for a syringe. Poor thing is terribly swollen and breathing through her mouth, but surprisingly is still eating and drinking.
He might be a bit sore where you saw the dried blood. If he is still eating and drinking like normal then he probably isn't in too much distress. The best thing for him now is just to keep an eye on him to make sure he's eating and drinking and see if the area where his beard was starts to swell...
