Just came across this Club. Nice Idea. I have a Silkie crossed with a Crest Cream Legbar who lays green eggs. Very close to my Arucana eggs.
I'll have to get a photo of her for this Club/Thread. Her name is Friendly and although she is our smallest hen, she is the Boss!
I know these chicks are very young (only two weeks), but I was wondering if anyone had any idea of gender. You guys are pretty good so I thought it was worth posting.
Number 1 is a Leghorn. Number 2 is a Welsummer. 3 and 4 are both Ancona's.
Thanks for the Help.

Here are a few of our Silkie Pekin Crosses when they were chicks. They're all grown up now and the Black one is Broody at the moment. Number 3 is a Boy
on the last photo of the four chicks the first one is a Lavander Araucana but the other three are Silkie Pekin Cosses
One of my favorite hens is our little Silkie Pekin Cross. She's a great layer, five or six eggs a week, right through the winter.
She's always been friendly since she was a chick. She is not overly broody...like our orpington. When she shows signs of broodiness
I take extra care to not let any...
Sure sounds like she is going broody. Why not get some fertile eggs and put them under her?
Carefully move her to a more suitable spot first. If she's real broody it probably won't make a difference but I usually slip the eggs under them while their sleeping. Depending on the size of the hen, I...
It's a little different. I also notice a lot of difference with the Araucana.
UK, Ireland, Scotland, Australia and New Zealand have a very different standard for the US on these.
Our Maran is a favorite for eggs, nice and quiet, great layer. Maybe not as friendly as our other birds.
She wont...
