We have wooden frames with steel roof that the the wire cages slide into. As @balloonflower said, you can clean the cages easily, and if you need to move somebunny, you just take the whole thing out; and the frame is off the ground on legs as you mentioned.
The two swedish ducks I hatched are seven weeks old. The lady I got the eggs from hatched 3 more and didn't want them. They are four weeks old. How badly are they going to be beat up when put in the pen? I don't want them hurt.
I had the same problem with some of my chicks-the yolk looking odd. And I have a question...the chicks I lost...when I candled them they looked as though they had "settled" in the bottom of the egg. What caused this? When candled at lockdown, they looked good, taking up space and looking ready...
