Gingernut ranger foot curled under and panting

It won't hurt to add Vit B and I'll be giving her some yogurt w/mash. But the articles I'm reading are all referring to chicks with curled toe paralysis - Henny is 6 years old. Still a possibility?

Gingernut ranger foot curled under and panting

    1) What type of bird , age and weight (does the chicken seem or feel lighter or thinner than the others.) Gingernut ranger. Six years old. Thinner than others 2) What is the behavior, exactly. She is not using her right leg. Holds it back so the top is her foot rests on the ground. No bumble...

Small compact coop vs. tall coop?

Good question to be asking now. We started with the Eglu - found that it was not fun to crawl into the run to clean it and bending down to get eggs from the Coop was hard on the back. We have just finished an enclosed run (all hardware cloth) that we can stand up in and gives the hens all of...

    Neck Feather Loss - Puzzling

Hi, The pictures are of my buff orpington. She's had one molt already but is now losing feathers just on her neck. There doesn't seem to be any feather picking going on with her two coop mates. I can't find any mites. Does this look like normal molt with pin feathers starting to come in?

Buff Orpington "digging" at herself and screeching

It does help! As I kept reading about bloodiness, the behavior fit her - except for the egg sitting part. Hopefully this will pass soon :)

Buff Orpington "digging" at herself and screeching

Hi, Not sure if this is an illness emergency or a need for an exorcism. Our Buff (in her first laying season) has recently started preening herself all over. If she were a parakeet I wouldn't think anything of it. No feathers missing. We can't find any crawly things on her skin because we...
