Thank you!! My pullets are 17 weeks old I found the first egg at 16 weeks so it may be a good few weeks before the other starts to lay

I have 4 rsl I think 3 of them are laying and 1 is not!! Should I offer growers pellets and layers pellets until I know all 4 are laying?

first egg at 16 weeks :-)

I'm not actually sure!!! My daughters school had them as eggs so they could watch them hatch and learn all about it!!! I said I would love to have chickens and the teacher said I could take them but she didn't know much about breed apart from they were mixed breed with a red hen and white...

I have been letting my chicks out of their coop the past few days for a few hours in the late afternoon and i've been puting them back each night, I thought i'd leave them to it tonight to see what they would do and the clever little chicks put themselves to bed!! I'm sooo proud

Yeah the coop has a window. I will be letting them out to free range but they are only just nearly 6 weeks so I am keeping them in the coop for a few more weeks as they need to get used to it as I must lock them in there on a night as I wouldn't trust the wildlife

Teaching them to return to the coop

I don't mind locking them in their coop at night with no acess to their pen but I couldn't bring myself to do it for 7 whole days and nights!! Me and the kids like to have playtime with them too much

Yeah i've been putting their food and water up in the coop with them on a night when Iock them in. Going to put them in before it gets too dark tonight as it has been quite dark the last 2 nights, hopefully they won't be as scared
