    Best type of roost? Weigh in with your design opinion.

    We had 2x4's & plywood. Now we have tree limbs the chicks like this better. We also have a bantam that prefers to roost in the rafters of our coop

    Our 10 hatchlings have now had a week in the halfway house and enjoyed it have now had 2 days of free ranging. Our hatchlings that are still inside will be in the halfway house tomorrow or next day. We haven't had that much pecking but with the final integration we probably will see more

    Our 10 incubating inside chicks have had their first taste of outside today and enjoyed it scratching and pecking our older hens just stared at them and didn't try to peck them

    Introducing the dogs to the baby chicks - bad or good idea?

    My cat and dog are both good with our penned chicks they stare and watch them. They are fine with our older chickens outside but our Chihuahua is very curious of our brooders (we let her keep 2 cause of cold) new chicks. Could this be a bad situation or just curiosity
