Diary of a Crossbeak: Support for Special Needs Chickens and their Keepers

Thank you for your kind words. I did a bunch of research here and around the web. I asked fellow chicken friends and came to the conclusion that even if I had fed her daily she may not have a long life and that would be hard on her and hard on us. I am always an advocate of not allowing living...

I ended up putting the poor thing out of her misery. It was hard for both me and my daughter. But it was the best thing for her.

    Really Green Poop

Yeah, I tried wet mash and will continue trying it. I don't know if it is the wrong dish or wrong consistency. Still hand-feeding.

Teach a cross beak to scoop food

Thank you. For now I will keep playing with the food. I don't want her to get much older without being able to feed herself because I will just get more attached.

Diary of a Crossbeak: Support for Special Needs Chickens and their Keepers

HELP! I am new to chickens. I have a 4 week old cross beak who is weak and sleeping almost consistantly. She was the largest chick for the first week and was eating normally. Within 5 days she was the smallest and is dying. I have been syringe feeding baby bird food. What else can I do for her...

    Attaching photos Help!

Hi, I am new here and when composing a reply or starting a new thread I am unable to attache a photo. I click on the paperclip and a message pops up saying "you are not authorized to create attachments". Anybody else have issues with that? Thanks
