    No I am in the UK. We’ve had the hottest day in July on record today so we have all been struggling! I was out at the time so didn’t pick up on anything but the others have been panting. I wonder if it was heat stress?

    Update: we dusted her with the Smite powder last night. I checked her crop this morning and there was food in there but that could be because I couldn’t get to her before she ate. She’s been out and about today and I have seen her eating. She’s still not herself though! Her feathers are puffed...

    Thank you for getting back to me. We don’t have a rooster so it can’t be that. She’s two years old and hasn’t had a single molt yet. I only have the smite mite powder in my cupboard - is that similar? We have the omlet plastic hen house so we’ve never had a problem with red mite before.

    Yes she just started to Molt! She’s much better now thank you. It’s started to get really cold now so I thought it might be too late for her to molt but she doesn’t seem to concerned by it and is happily eating again!

    It’s called recovery, it’s for small animals and is something the vet prescribed for her. There were lots of feathers in the run when I got home and she hasn’t molted yet. What are the symptoms of molting? I will try to get photos in the morning but she is getting harder to catch!
