Thank you :D! The chickens, LOL!!! I've never seen them on it. My boyfriend said he has, but I think they need a branch swing so they can hold onto it.
Thanks for the tip. I'll check them later. As mentioned above, that isn't where they spend most of the time. I would love to put some kind of grass seed in there and make it a lot nicer. I inherited the coop when I bought the house in August. I did try to put some special grass seed in there...
What's bumblefoot?
Edit below:
I just looked it up. That doesn't look very nice. They aren't in the coop area during the day (I do have an actual coop. That's just the fenced in outside area). I let them roam the yard and swim in the brook behind my home. I have just under an acre of land so...
I've read how to sex the ducks, I just never did it. Hoping their coloring may be the tell tale sign at this point? There is no tail feather curling yet, but not sure what age that happens at.

I'm hoping for at least one male with my ducks. Can anyone help? Also, are there any guesses as to what this lil' black...
Hello,
I was searching for something and found an article claiming it can take a broody up to two weeks to build up her clutch. Is this so? I had 12 eggs out there, none showing any life-signs and brought half of them in. (Some had been there since last Thursday.) I'm thinking my impatience...
If they are cold when you touch them, is there any chance they may still become babies? I got an egg candle yesterday. The guy said you could tell if one is fertile in about 4 days.
Thanks! I'm curious- if you physically move eggs into one nesting bed from another, will the broody abandon sitting on them? I found the eggs I wanted to try and hatch from Wednesday unattended Thursday morning (I had combined the eggs from two into one bed) and very cold. I didn't think they...
This sounds exciting! I'm going to leave today's eggs in the coop in hopes of some chicks (this is my first time as a chicken mom doing this 🙃), but come the 21st, I'd LOVE to participate in this hatch-a-long! 🐣
