I have a chick about 2 weeks old and her vent is protruding a lot and her vent is open and I can see poop in it. I have been putting her in warm water and keeping her as clean as possible. I have cleaned some of the poop out and am on my way to get a syringe in hopes to flush some of it out...

The outside of her butt is totally clean. And when she poops I have been cleaning that off almost immediately. I have been on top of it. So I can't imagine she could be backed up but I am not a pro either so I'm always up for advice. The wetness on her behind is water from where I just cleaned her

We have chicks 1 week old today who always food and water available to them. A ton of food is on the floor of the brooder...any ideas how to contain or to be able to save some of the food the chicks are wasting?
