Ours are quite friendly as well. The older two are a little skittish when first picked up but when dd sits on the ground, they're all over her. Her five little younger chicks, climb onto her immediately when out of the coop and will all pile together and sleep in her lap. They follow her...

The striped chick actually looks just like it's black siblings, except for the yellow. It is the same size, has black legs, black beak, etc. Other than the yellow, it looks exactly like the others. I am very surprised with the controversy on the boards here for chicks that do not hatch out to...

It's hard to say at this point, because he's not real fluffed out yet - he looks silverish underneath a bit, but then it's hard to say. He's the one on the far right in this pic, next to the yellow/black one. He's literally about half the size of the others. But he is eating and drinking and...

Thank you, thank you! DD likes the unusual... lol I guess that's why she was drawn to this breed to begin with!

We've had about the same... a couple very black, a couple with a touch of white/white toenails and one that is half yellow half black. We're very pleased with this hatch overall. Alien is TINY, though.... he's about half the size of the others! Good luck with your hatch!

We had another one hatch during the night and another one just a few minutes ago, bringing our hatch rate so far to 5 out of 6 or 83%... we're pretty pleased with this rate for shipped eggs! And we're still giving the final egg a couple of more days to see if anything happens with it (we're only...

That's too funny! DD named her dark ones that hatched today Salem and EightBall. She named the one that is black with a lot of yellow Domino! :) We're still watching the last three to see if they do anything (we thought one had pipped but it was a false alarm) but she is very happy with these...

And animal pearls... but don't worry, the animals are not harmed in the collecting - I guess they just hand them over?.... very odd....

We are having a phenomenal hatch! The little guy above hatched about 30 minutes after we woke up this morning. Then we came home from DD's Rabbit Judging Meet to find TWO MORE chicks had hatched! One, EightBall, is very black like the little guy, Salem, above. The other one, Domino, has a...

We woke up to the pipped egg zipping out and she's (dd's hoping it's a pullet) out! The other five eggs do not have pips yet, but we put them in on Sat. evening 3 weeks ago, so we have time yet for others to follow! We have to leave in just a little bit for most of the day... so hard to go when...

This is what worries me. We don't handle or candle them at all while in the incubator. I know that's contrary to what most people do, but we really leave them alone. Of course this is only our second batch of six.....

Ours are not due to hatch until tomorrow night but we have a pip tonight and can hear cheeping from one! SO EXCITED HERE! Dd is not real happy that she has a Rabbit Judging meet tomorrow, though, and will be gone a lot of the day! Maybe we'll wake up to one before we leave in the morning.... :)
