I live in washington state too. We do have smoke smell here. And I am worried about my chickens.
As far as we know, the fires are not set by arsonists. There were false claims of this and false information but debunked. It may be a couple are, but the bulk is our severely dry weather and winds.
We have ordered vitamins and something for respiratory infection online. We couldn’t get a vet appointment any time soon. So we are hoping we are not too late once the supplement and medicine. But I fear she is slowly dying and I feel terrible about it. Thank you for asking.

Thanks again. WOw, that is hot where you are. I am serious what breeds you have. The CM is a larger bird with plenty of feathers. The smaller birds with less feathers are doing better. Good to know that laying around panting is good : )
