I got mine last June, and it's still running perfectly on the 2 batteries it came with. We had many cold nights this winter. I was surprised.
At this time of year, I'm happy that they can get into the run 20 minutes after sunrise.
This thread is forever old, but can anyone tell me why Stop-Pick is red?
I bought some, but I'm reluctant to try it.
I don't want to put red on my hens, do I?
The man who built my coop, built a pen under the poop board on Saturday, and I moved her out of the house. Yay!
They paid no mind to her, and today I released her to join them, and it was like she'd never left.
I don't know why, or how, but she's with them again, holding her own.
She used to...
Good idea to take them off occasionally. Maybe a rotation between the hens.
Supposedly, a rooster will mate 30 times a day. I suspect that that is your problem, and mine. We don't have enough hens. The minimum is 10, and more is better.
I have 6 on the way. It should help.
Good luck.
She's been with them since birth, late June of last year. Aside from the rooster, I raised them from chicks.
Sell her to who? How would that be better for her? She'd still be "the new chicken", wouldn't she? 😭
Is she so estranged already? This is horrible.
Thank you for replying.
