    just hatched my own eggs

i am kinda surprised on how good this went. i was not collecting that many eggs at a time. i was letting them sit a room temp until i had enough, around 15. i started getting more eggs just before incubation, i even add some at the start of incubation kinda cool to raise your own. i do not have...

    Problems with James Marie Farms

JMF has been fair in my dealings with them - on two occasions. stuff happens. mother nature in the summer can be quite difficult, i am happy to keep my quail and rabbits alive.

How doo you tell if you have a double yolk egg?

bumping i am getting double yolk eggs, has anyone incubated their double yolkers? i wish to incubated my own eggs. is 80 ambient temp too warm, until i collect enough? i am planning on collecting around 15 eggs for incubation. instead of bothering JMF. i guess i could just save and eat...

    spraddle leg in quail chicks

the glass/cup technique worked for me. i kept the chicks with the problem in the bator until they could walk. the late hatchers seem to have the most problems. on my second hatch. much better than the first. happy quailing

Quail not laying, is something wrong with my set up?

i have a hen (only one) at 16 weeks, not an egg yet. i did have a litter of rabbit, though. rabbits need light also. i feed 30% game bird feed. she would be gone by now, but she is one nice quail. good breeder if she ever lays. happy quailing

    first hatch dilemma, now what?

thanks all. i will ponder the situation some more. i am leaning towards more JMF eggs, but i am having surgery in the near future. not sure if i can care for them. you know it is hard work looking into the incubator. if i read correctly they become fertile at about 7/8 weeks. so i have about...

    Cotrnix In Winter

from what i have read on this forum is that if you keep them out of a draft they will be ok. maybe plan on getting some tarps to make wind breaks. one can put drop lights near the waterers to keep ice at bay. plus the extra light might give you more eggs. i am new to this hobby. get eggs this...
