Do I have to "break" my broody chicken or will she stop on her own?

I have the same problem. We have a blue has that gone brudy three times this summer. It's a real pain, as it seems to unsettle the flock :/

    Hen's eating slow worms

Will do. There are usually lots of them. 50 or so per dropping.

    Hen's eating slow worms

They're legless lizards. We only have a few species of lizard in the UK. Slowworms being the most common

    Hen's eating slow worms

We have a wall that makes up one side of our run, which is mostly covered by climbing shrubs. Can't see the top of the wall, as there's a tall fence in front, separating our garden, from the neighbors behind. I'm guessing they're nesting under foliage on top of the wall and sometimes going into...

    Hen's eating slow worms

That's very helpful. Thanks alot. Its quantity of the eggs that was bothering me. Sometimes up to 50 or so on a single dropping. Only ever in the coop though. Never notice them when they are out in the garden. Whatever lays them, never sticks around. The coop is cleaned daily and never noticed...

    Hen's eating slow worms

They look very much like eggs. Oval, translucent looking things. Here's a link to my original post about it. https://www.backyardchickens.com/threads/worm-eggs.1192784/

Can you see their eggs? I sometimes find lots of eggs on their droppings but another user insisted that these weren't worm eggs, as worm eggs microscopic. Never got a definitive answer to where these eggs come from.

    Hen's eating slow worms

Only ever noticed roundworms. Do you use a chemical wormer?

    Hen's eating slow worms

Was just wondering, as ours seem to get worms quite a bit. We're having to worm them 3-4 times a year.

    Hen's eating slow worms

We seem to get an abundance of slow worms in our garden, which I'm continuously attempting to wrestle off the chickens. They are a protected species here in the UK, so I'm not sure what to do about it. Also, as slow worms eat a lot of worms and slugs, does this make them potential parasite...

    Molting and sunburn

Ok cheers. Only on the underside at the moment, so was just thinking ahead.

    Molting and sunburn

We have a hen going into her first adult molten and was wondering, is sunburn an issue during this period? The weather is pretty decent at the moment and as they range around the garden, was just a bit worried, as to whether they'd have the sense to seek shade to give bald patches a break from...
