I am looking for a watering system. Can you tell me how yours works?

My husband built me a new chicken house after a coon/coons got into my old one and killed all but six of my chickens. I bought a hanging heated waterer to put in there thinking it would be so nice to have off the floor so dirt and debris didn't get into the water but I cannot get the chickens...

In your opinion, what are the best chicks to buy to get x-large or large great tasting eggs. I had a coon/coons get all but 6 of my laying hens. I'm sick about it. In addition to that only one has started laying again after 2 months. Poor babies.
