Thanks!! The to barred rocks I have are definitely the boisterous, outgoing, naughty type of birds. I love it! My 2 favorites. They will jump up and set on my shoulder and hang out. I'm sure if I didn't have the enclosure or closed in on top, they would be up-and-over that 6' fence like nothing.
I've been wanting to do a backyard flock but wasn't sure I'd be able to swing it. Took my son to the local Mom and pop farm supply for a chicken chat that they hosted with a representative from a major feed company. Went for information only and to my wife's surprise… came home with chicks...
We have a good time setting up and putting it all together as a family. Kids loved it! They are seriously diggin these chickens also! My daughter especially, she's like a little animal whisper.

NewI'm a complete and total novice here, 1st time getting chicks. I have heavy duty zip ties quite close together but something more substantial , like metal wire would be better I guess. Plan was to go out two feet minimum with the apron had never thought about the wood sticking up...
