Do Silkies like the rain?
Im in thr UK and it rains more days than it doesnt, my three silkies are fine in thr rain and are usually soaked through more than my other hens. Iv had them for nearly 3 years and none have gotten sick in anyway. Hope this helps :)- hxgumdrop

Lump with blood and puss on two day old chick

Lump with blood and puss on two day old chick
My chick hatched wednesday eveningand had a strange dry lunp on its tummy, today (friday) she started pecking it and its come loose and started to seep a bit. Should i be worried? Will this clear up on its own or should she go to the vet?- hxgumdrop

Id say rooster to mine had combs like that at this age to and the pullets had more of a fluff crown- hxgumdrop

@Yorkshire coop I am using Scrambles one of my Silkies, I had Clarissa my Sussex hatch Scrambles and her sisters so hoping Scrambles will be a natural mother like her mother was! Put the eggs under her today so the wait has begun!- hxgumdrop

They didnt no they was sick. They had rats so no one wanted to go down the garden to see then ao theyv been left on their own. i am unable to take them back as they sre unable to look after the hens now. I will see how they are ovwr next few days/weeks as i will be keeping them seperate feom my hens until im sure nothing bad will happen- hxgumdrop

They were sneezing before i had got them home! Lady Grace has a bad wheeze and idealy i would want to keep her on her own but both have had a stressful time of it lately so i dont want to seperate them. Will keep am eye on them both and hope its just the stress and they will be ok in time!- hxgumdrop

The hens i have already get what i would call a cold as they sneeze, i put apple cider vinager in their water which clears it up. Lady Grace and Marmite both sneeze and one is very wheezy so have put the vinager in their water like i would with the others. So do you think I should be doing...- hxgumdrop
