When a bird is like that they are hard to treat. You need a vet. If no vet you can try things like crushed hard boiled egg with pro-biotics and electrolytes mixed in for food. If not eating and drinking its not good. You could try metranidazole down the mouth with shringe.
Never get birds from another person. Always buy from a trusted source like a tac n feed store or farm store whose birds come from vetted hatcheries. You can contaminate and kill all birds and dirt in your yard for years. Ask me how I know that.
We have a chick coop that is 4x8x3ft. We use it every 3 years to raise our chicks to full feather age. Last summer I am pretty sure one of our turkeys had backhead and we isolated the turkey in the chick coop and it dies the next day. That was at least six months ago and a cold winter. Outside...
It stays suspended in 10ml of water long enough to suck it up a shringe. Maybe not a 55 gallon barrel of water all night but that wasnt what I said to do, read it again!

I am posting this hoping this gets out to the chicken world and helps a lot of people.
We have had chickens for 9 years. 4 years ago we started having eggs with "issues". Meat/blood spots started becoming a huge problem. We could no longer sell or eat most of our eggs. It started off being 3...
When we first started with chickens(black sex-links, red sex-links, barred rocks) we got 1yr old "used" chickens off craigs, it was a sweet-n-sour experience. The chickens laid all winter and gave us a ton of eggs without artificial light. The bad was they came with leg mites and we never could...
My whole coop-run if full of snow. I snow shoveled some walking areas for them but its not enough. They have no ground to scratch and peck (frozen) and they hate walking in deep snow. I cleared some walking areas that are maybe 2' x 20' (2). Thats the best I can do. There is no free range area...

Question: Are eggs gluten-free, or do they sometimes contain gluten?
