Raised chickens off and in for years, specialized in heritage RIR with my cock (shown in avatar) winning a total of 7 times all three: Best RIR, Best in show overall, First place in category; at various ag fairs. After he passed away over a few years ago at the age of 8, I stopped raising chickens until now because he was the first egg I ever hatched and was a very close pet. Currently starting up a new flock from mixed breed eggs provided by a local friend who keeps chickens.
