Can’t get my 2 year old hen to lay eggs

I have a Plymouth Rock chicken who hasn’t laid eggs since almost three months now. She is free range, we’re in California by the ocean so it’s not overly hot here. I can’t get her to eat her layer feed anymore. I try mushing it up with water, I even added cat food in the mush to disguise the...

Really advanced bacterial skin infection HELP

Somehow I don’t think it’s Marek’s. There hasn’t been any motion problems. She’s walking fine, just a little unstable on her legs. But these bumps/ lumps that appear in the feathers, which seems untypical for fowl pox.

Really advanced bacterial skin infection HELP

Yes I’m still giving the antibiotics but considering to stop since I don’t see any chnage or improvement. The only that concerns me is that with avian pox I read it affects the parts without feathers. These bumps/lumps appear all over her body. It was first just under her, but now start on top...

Really advanced bacterial skin infection HELP

No wet bedding. I'm in Los Angeles and it's extremely dry here. I have one other chicken that looks very healthy and perky. I just seperated them 2 weeks ago, but the illness might have been progressing since August. I'm more concerned with the bumps and scrapes on her body which seem to spread...

Really advanced bacterial skin infection HELP

My 1.5 year old hen contracted a bad skin infection that I first didn’t even notice for a while. I went to the vet and he prescribed antibiotics (Nystatin and Enrofloxacin) and a topical cream (Fura-zone). I’m administering it now since two weeks and it’s just getting worse everyday. The next...

Scabs on comb and bold spots on head. How to stop pecking?

Hi chicken friends, my hen showed bold spots on the back of her head for a few weeks now. I know the other hen is pecking her on the head occasionally and thought that the bold spots came from that. This morning she had scaps on both sides of her comb and I’m wondering if I can do anything to...

My chickens stopped laying eggs but are too young to be done

This is all great information. Thank you everybody for your input. At least I can hope for some more eggs maybe by December. I’ll try to add more protein to their diet.

My chickens stopped laying eggs but are too young to be done

Hi there, I have only two chickens, and Rhode Island Red and an Alstrotorp. They should both be around 2 1/2 and 3 years old. Over the summer they stopped laying eggs, first it was getting less regular and then they stopped altogether. One of the last badges I found outside in the yard and then...

Very noisy chicken in the morning

i have two chickens in the city in my backyard and one of them makes very load noises in the morning around 6-6.30. So far I didn’t get complaints yet, but I’m worried the patience level of my neighbors will be reached soon. I’m probably responsible for it myself since I always give them some...

Absolutely bloody viscous fights between my 2 hens. What to do?

One more question, what do I do with the injured foot now? It can hardly put any weight on it and is limping after the last fight. Should I wait for it to heal or let them fight again anyway. It would bring the injured one in a disadvantage right away and maybe it submits quicker. But it seems...

Absolutely bloody viscous fights between my 2 hens. What to do?

They have a continuous supply of regular layer pallets and get treats of organic scratch & peck grains in the morning and evening and occasional veggies. In the moment they both get their own portions but both of them are eyeing the other ones ration even their own is on front of them.
