I tried once when they were 4 days old and Gracie (she's an embden goose) ran at them and pecked them, so we separated them but only using a fence. We wanted Gracie to be able to watch them. She stands next to their pen and chatters and vibrates her neck. Will this change?
I just purchased 6 Cayuga ducklings to replace Gracie's flock and was wondering how long I should wait before letting her have access to them? They live in the same coop with a wire cage separating them, and Gracie is 4 months old.
Just started raising ducks and goose in May, and due to a terrible tragedy I only have the goose left. I'm looking to add new babies, and need all the advice I can get.
