Taming a pair of runner ducks

Yes I think she was shaken up and not happy with me Anyhow decided with the boyfriend to just let them settle in a bit more to their surroundings befor trying actively taming them. They have left the peas and wheat provided last night uneaten this morning. Maybe they will have a nibble during...

Taming a pair of runner ducks

Disaster tonight. I tried to capture and hold each of them and in the scurry the female scraped her wing a bit I tried another method of standing and quacking at them for about 5 minutes (like a loon). They really are some spooked out ducks! I am wondering if getting one or two really really...

Taming a pair of runner ducks

Well this morning the report is they have been at the water and a little at the food but peas remain They're still sat in their hidey corner but less so hiding behind stuff just sat on the straw I've provided. I suppose that's a start. But maybe they're not into peas like other runners. I...

Taming a pair of runner ducks

Ah I know not all animals will be tamed, though it would be nice to not have them panic when I step close to them. I just need them to know it's okay even if they want to keep their distance.

Taming a pair of runner ducks

Haha duck crack! Well I hope they like them as much as people say they do. Do they have to be frozen or can uncooked frozen do the same job too? Also, catfood?? I wasn't aware that would be a good thing to feed to ducks. Thnks for all the tips though.

Taming a pair of runner ducks

Haha the pea bringer! I shall try that, anything to help with them realising that people can be nice. Anything is better than them hiding away.

Taming a pair of runner ducks

Peas? I see! Mine seem to be about young adult age which doesn't help. I'm not sure if offering a tasty snack wil help since they daren't come near people at all! I will try leav peas out for them, we've had a big own grown crop this year thankfully.

Taming a pair of runner ducks

Hi I've recently adopted a pair of runner ducks, I'm not sure what age they are or their backgroud but I took them on to give them a good home. My main concen is that they appear to be very spooked and timid/fearful of people. I've had them for a few days and they have spent a lot of time...
