    Interesting. We just got one today as well. It was laying next to a full sized egg. Is it possible the same chicken laid both? Our hens have been laying for almost a year. Would this still be normal?

    Sorry - guess I should clarify - they free range all day and only coop at night.

We didn't intend on 15 chickens but that was what came in the order originally (figuring attrition), and they are all healthy and doing well so far, so looks like 15 it is.
