    Very Tiny Egg

Amazing to see the changes! Are you saving an egg from each season? :)

    Very Tiny Egg

Thank you! Figured as much. We are trying not to freak out over every new thing, but it's funny how we still get "new things" after this long with the girls. Thanks for the feedback!

    Very Tiny Egg

Interesting. We just got one today as well. It was laying next to a full sized egg. Is it possible the same chicken laid both? Our hens have been laying for almost a year. Would this still be normal?

    Runny Chicken Poop

I know this is an old thread - but glad I found it. Who knew so much knowledge lay in poo?? Thank you for the insight.

    Funny egg

Thank you for this question. We have hens that are not quite a year old and one of them has laid 3 or 4 of these "water balloon" eggs (that is eggsactly how I described them too!). Pullets sleeping in nest box, not on roosts.

Sorry - guess I should clarify - they free range all day and only coop at night.

Pullets sleeping in nest box, not on roosts.

The coop is about 7' x 4' and the plans said it accommodated 12 chickens. We didn't intend on 15 chickens but that was what came in the order originally (figuring attrition), and they are all healthy and doing well so far, so looks like 15 it is. They will be 19 weeks old on Monday. They slept...

Pullets sleeping in nest box, not on roosts.

We are new to this also, so I appreciate the input/feedback. We have 15 hens. Last night 7 of them were on the roost and the others were shoved into the nesting box. There were 4 hens in one box, 2 in another box and one on the divider between the two boxes scrunched down under the nesting box...
