All the seramas that I have owned have been very docile and easy to handle, the roos are usaly pretty good at protecting their ladies. The eggs are white. The only problem I've had is my hen named pearl loves eating her own eggs.
These are my seramas and my leghorn, the roo is named RuPaul, the black hen is Luna, the one that is black and white is named pearl (I'm trying to come up with a better name for her.) The leghorn in the back is named lucy.
If she doesn't have parasites there's a chance she is egg-bound and I would follow these directions to soak her: http://www.fresheggsdaily.com/2012/06/egg-bound-hens-how-to-recognize-treat.html?m=1
Ive never owned a ferret but they are a over grown weasle like people have stated above, however they could act like the skunk we had, he never ate the chickens but he ate the eggs.
Update: She is eating a little bit of wet food but she is still unable to bend over to feed so I still need to spoon feed her. Her next dose of wormer is Thursday. She pooped out 3 more worms however there was a lot of eggs and mucus.
Is the head still on the chicken? Coons are known for eating the head and neck. However they usaly are known for killing the entire flock for fun (same with foxes). I personally believe it could of been a dog or coyote. (Is there even hinges connecting the roof of the nesting box to the house?)
