Can someone tell me what happened? We had a 7 year old chicken we had nursed back to health after a raccoon attack. She had been severely injured with her innards exposed under her wing. We kept her inside for months and nursed her to health. She was a pet and was more fond of us than the other...
Update: Redda survived and seems to be doing very well! Thanks for all the advice on here. We gave her an antibiotic and kept the wound cleaned and covered with antibiotic cream. She is still in the house but she is chipper and seems happy and has even layed two eggs in the last three days. 😁
Our pet chicken was dragged from under the coop during the night on Sunday. We assumed she was dead. Our neighbor just came over and said she was hiding her bushes. She has a large gaping wound under her wing that smells bad. There’s a picture attached. is there anyway to save her?

One of you favorite backyard chickens, Elsa, got her toe caught in the coop door about a week and half ago. She was caught by one "toe" in the door for several hours. (I don't know the right term for the digit of a chicken.) When we found her and released her the skin was off a 1/4 inch section...
