Hard to see, but this chick has what looks to be feathers growing in its eye. Eye gets build up and I have to clean it daily. Any tips to help relieve the chick from being uncomfortable?
Blue birchen maran chick.
Are chicks coming out of hatcheries safe from AI?
I’m on the fence with ordering chicks, reason being I live in Hawaii and want to make sure my flock is safe and my neighbors flocks are safe.
Which would be my best option hatching eggs or chicks?
Here’s another one... I’m getting roo vibes from this one. I’ve given up hope on my flock, aha all of the chicks I picked from might end up being more then 50% Roos. 😭
Also, update on the chicken above...He finally crowed. 😤
I'm thinking hen, but the redness of the comb and waddle is making it hard to determine.
The rooster I have (hatched the same time) is already starting to crow, haven't heard anything from this one.
He?/She? just made 10 weeks old.
I should’ve mentioned in the beginning. My bad!
I had blues, browns, pinks, whites and speckled dark browns. I also had couple olive ones but I can’t remember if any of them hatched.
Update!!

Also, looks like I have a lot of roosters. 😂
I am trying to identify the breeds of these chicks I have.
I bought some eggs and were told that the chicks could possibly purebred but most likely be a mix of the list below.
The roosters include One Blue Australorp and one Buff Orpington.
The hens include Blue Australorp, Buff Orpington...
They’re pooping formed poop as well.
No grit available to them yet and they are super active and eating and drinking normally. Just concerning because it all seemed to happen after I had given them the nutri-drench in their water.
My week old chicks are pooping yellow, foamy, poop. I gave them a dosage of nutri-drench water and some mealworms as a treat and now their poop is like this. Any idea why? And what I should give them?
I think this chick could possibly be sick or have something going on with her. She is eating and drinking and keeps up with the rest of chicks, and poop is looking great, however, I’ve been watching it closely and it seems to be much more puffed up and it’s wings look to be drooping compared to...
