I started my first coop in July 2020 with laying hens and enjoy watching and caring for them with no background or experience but researching and reading everything I could lay my hands on. My ladies have such individual personalities and nosy to the max. They miss nothing! I decided to give raising backyard chickens for eggs during the pandemic, giving me fresh eggs and loads of work and, as always, lots of fun watching my three ladies do their thing. Being new to this serious hobby, I thought it a good idea to become a member of various groups of professional backyard chicken lovers to become knowledgeable in the care, upkeep, and health of my cute little hens. I immediately gave them names and love to listen to them talk to me every day as I take care of their needs. I've been a Realtor® for over 25 years and slowly changing over to pursuing my goal of writing and publishing fictional stories for young adults and also children's books. It is a long road, but loads of fun. Many of my current furry babies I will feature in future stories and who knows, I'm sure one of my feathered ladies will hit the print media in the future with their own hilarious stories.
