    New Rooster, will he be fine + taming tips?

    We got a new rooster today. Very beautiful, almost all black with very dark gray edges on his feathers. We introduced him to our flock, will he be fine w/o fighting? We've seen him scrimmage a little but he seems good. Also, any taming tips for this birb?

    Can quail tractors be placed on areas where chickens were?

    Would they be with the chickens? Or alone? If they're alone w/o chickens, they'll be fine.

    I would mark the water line with a piece of tape or safe marker and check back later to see if the water level is below where you marked. Usually they'll find it fine. That's how mine were. Good luck!

    A few days ago my quail were fighting and I found the other fighter :hmm Unfortunately she had lost about half of her top beak, but not broken off at the nostrils like the boy I had to cull. Her wound is healed, but I'm worried about her eating. I think our food is too big for her to eat...

    Edit: The bird was unfortunately culled. My 6 week old male quail has lost his upper beak in a presumed fight. He seems to be doing fine. Judging by the wound's look, he seems to have lost it 2~ hours ago. I tried to find the other fighter but I couldn't narrow it down. He is not bleeding...

    About bobwhites

    So, at the beginning of May I should be receiving baby bobwhites. My question is can they be tamed down? I know they are some of the wilder breeds of quail. Also, how would I tame them? Do we just handle them frequently? I know all about coturnix, but we unfortunately couldn't order those. :idunno
