    I witnessed this morning that at least two of my hens are crowing like the roosters I keep in a separate area! I am wondering if this is going to affect their egg laying once they are mature enough to start laying..

    Most of my eggs wont hatch?

    I have been trying to hatch my hens eggs in a still air incubator throughout the summer. Almost all of the chicks seem to make it full term and then die before they hatch😖. The only thing I can think is because they are inbred. I keep a close eye on the temp and humidity. Any suggestions anyone?

    I am attempting to do that. How slow is slowly? I currently got the temp down to high 50's as of this morning. For the oldest ones that is. The younger ones are at 70 - 75. Thanks!

    Thanks a lot! The temps here now are anywhere from 0 to 30 F daytime and can get below zero at night on occasion. I think I will move them to the larger unheated area and provide a heat lamp in a corner should they need it. I am just worried about the drastic jump from 70 - 80 to 15 - 25...

    I have been raising some young chickens in a heated room in our barn. I am wondering when or how to move them from the 70 degree room to the cold winter conditions in the barn to be with the other adult chickens.? Two of them are about nine weeks old and five others are about five weeks old.

    Just checked him. Turns out he is the one making it worse by scratching at it😑. I put ointment on it and tried to protect it with a bandage but he just keeps scratching that off. I am about out of ideas..

    I think soft but its tricky to tell because he's so tiny. I think it's been bleeding from the other chick packing at it perhaps but I havent witnessed any pecking while observing them.
