ID on an 8 week old

Figures. Every hatch so far, whether I get 1 or 10, I only end up with 1 hen. On that note, anyone looking for a black frizzle silkie cockerel in the Philadelphia area?

ID on an 8 week old

Bought 1 dozen purebred eggs. Farm’s pick. We hatched 1 naked neck, 1 Ancona and this little one. Not a bad hatch after 2 weeks with the post office.

Looking for an ID on the one in front. Should be pure. Egg came from farm that keeps them separated.

14 eggs in the bator. 2 burst due to cracks during shipping. 3 hatched on day 21. Can anyone see what could have gone wrong with these four potential gals?

    Is there any hope?

My concern about it is my limited experience. My last round, 4 of 7 eggs hatched. The last egg to hatch and smallest of the chicks died.

The zip was chirping and moving around. 24 hours later still the same. I had to go to work for 4 hours. When I got home I did the thing...

    New flock in Norwood, Pa

Thanks everyone. We appreciate the warm welcome. Looks like our flock is growing a day early. Eggs went into the incubator 5:00 pm on Jan 23. 2 pips and a zip at 8:00 am today. 1 fully hatched by 9:30. Is this okay?

    New flock in Norwood, Pa

This all started a few years back. We thought it be fun to have a few chickens running around the backyard. So we did the obvious thing. Go on Amazon and buy the $100 coop that houses 6 chickens. Get super excited when the package arrives, build the coop and then raise an eyebrow. “6 birds in...
