    Wry neck and sudden death

Is Valbazen readily available at Tractor Supply or do I need to order it online? Can weight be estimated for heavy/bantam breeds or do I need to actually weigh each bird for accurate dosing? How often do you recommend worming a free range backyard flock?

    Wry neck and sudden death

I found the 3cc/gal suggestion on a thread on BYC. There are SOO many to read through and choose from-I chose that method because we had it on hand. I purchased Wazine but soon learned it's not very effective (broad spectrum) so didn't use it. I haven't seen any worms, but my flock free ranges.

    Wry neck and sudden death

I have a Crested Cream Legbar pullet at point of lay (24 weeks, no egg yet). Less than 48 hours ago I noticed she seemed sleepy-she was resting in the nesting box when she would normally be foraging. Last night when I went out to close the coop door, she was on the floor of the coop with wry...

    What breed is my roo?

We got this roo as a week-old chick from a lady who breeds French Black Copper Marans and has a mixed barnyard flock (including several barred rock). His legs are yellow and feathered all the way down his outside toe. He's 6.5 months old and loves the ladies. A friend suggested he might be a...

feather looks pointy til you look closely

On a 3-4 month old chicken, will these change to actual points or stay round? I know pointy neck feathers mean cockerel and round means pullet, but I'm not sure how these fit in.

    EE pullet or cockerel?

That's what confuses me-feathers on neck look pointed, but up close they're round (just finer tipped?) As they get older, do these change to true pointed feathers, or are these misleading?

    EE pullet or cockerel?

He could be 4 mos and the other 3 mos? I didn't write down when I got any of them except the FBCM and Cream Legbar, so I really am guessing

    EE pullet or cockerel?

His comb is wide and completely flat, not raised at all. Tried to bribe him with apples for a better pic, but this is all he would grace me with

    EE pullet or cockerel?

Once again, chicken experts, I need your help. I have two chickens that I'd love to know gender on. I'm estimating on their ages. The black and white one is 3-4 months old. The multicolored speckled one is 5ish+ months. They both have scraggly beards and ear tufts. Your thoughts?

    pullet or cockerel?

I guess Esther (the black one) needs a new name! ;o) Thanks for the input-I'll put all three in the ad then.

Sorry-first time posting. Took me a few minutes to figure out how to add pics

    pullet or cockerel?

I have three young chickens (6 mos +/-) that I'm pretty sure are boys, but I want a second opinion before I get rid of them. The two reddish ones (one lighter red with orange/yellow legs, one darker red with white legs) I'm comfortable calling cockerels. The black one I'm not quite convinced...
