    Wazine

I have a blind rooster who has pin worms he is healthy otherwise. I know you are supposed to mix Wazine into the water source for a day but is there a way to give him a small dosage in an eyedropper? He has a hard time drinking out of his bowls of water, and I am afraid he will not get enough of...

Buff Drakes are Killing wild birds

Thank you once again for your insight. My boyfriend and I have decided not to get anymore ducks, because we don't have the space, we are kind of "urban" Our back yard is about a 3/4 of a acre. I have 2 hens, and the duck pair were a gift. I also have a bantam house rooster, and a dog. Also the...

Buff Drakes are Killing wild birds

LOL I got a couple of great mental images. I think maybe you are right. I've found about 2 birds in their pool and the others somewhere around their pen. Maybe it's the young testosterone flowing through those veins and everything is a wrestling match. That would make sense.

Buff Drakes are Killing wild birds

I have 2 (chicken) hens One Barred Rock and one Silver Laced wyandotte the ducks leave alone. Also one chinese nankin bantam rooster (he is scared of everyone) that they leave alone. The only thing they attack is my Dog Mini schnauzer-dachshund mix. She will go get a drink and they will hiss and...

Buff Drakes are Killing wild birds

Maybe, the birds I have found around their house, pool and pen have been various sizes and types. So I am not sure. It is so strange.

Buff Drakes are Killing wild birds

Maybe, we got them from Tractor supply and we had no idea what kind or sex they were. Both of their heads turned grey in the last two weeks. I might get them some females, if the boyfriend will go for it.

Buff Drakes are Killing wild birds

I have 2 buff drakes, they have murdered about 6 different birds in our backyard. I caught one of them trying to drown a female robin in their duck pool today. I was able to save it, so it is alive and well but why is this happening? I am new to Buff ducks and happened to get a pair for easter...

    New to Ducks

Hello! I got gifted 2 ducklings in March of this year. I always wanted some ducks. I believe they are buff ducks, they are Jerkfaces and run away from me. I still love them and find them adorable. I think I might have a girl and a boy. I notice the one who I believe is female Loki hisses at...

    Is ivermectin paste okay?

I didn't take pictures of his poop but I found a picture of what the redstrings looked like. He isn't yawning anymore and no longer has a bloody vent. He seems happy and perky.

    Is ivermectin paste okay?

It was gapeworms.. They came out in his poop as long red stringy things. He is doing much better and is no longer yawning constantly. I gave him meds for 5 days. The only difference in his poop was the long stringy red worms. I will dose him again in 10 days. Thank you everyone!

    House Chickens!

I had seen a thread for this, but it was from way back in 2009. So I thought I would start a new one. Do any of you like to keep chickens as house pets? Would you like to share your stories and pictures? House breaking: Many people have asked how I have house broken my rooster. I placed a...

    Is ivermectin paste okay?

I went out and purchased Safeguard Liquid Goat wormer. Which seems to be the most popular wormer among most chicken owners. I got a cc syringe and gave him .25 ccs of it orally. He's doing pretty well today. Thank you for all your help! The wormer I purchased...

    Lost toe nails

That's strange. Not to sure about the toes. I wanted to reply about the cross beak though. My roo had that going on when he was younger, I used nail clippers and trimmed his beak. I genty filed his beak and got it to sit correctly in place. Their beaks are trimmable like their nails, you just...
