They are all adorable. We have one adult chicken named Honey who I believe is a golden comet but no clue on the age. She is also a rescue like your Oreo. She wandered into my garage in the fall and refused to leave. I chased her around my car for a good fifteen minutes while I was super...
We’ve not picked names yet. My four year old is in the process of picking but so far all she’s come up with is honey and we already have a chicken named honey so we’ll have to come up with some more lol. The small black one I want to name poppy but I need to get my kiddo on board.
That would be cool, that ones my favorite because of how different he/she is from the others. I’m not positive about the age but I think around 3 weeks.
I received some chicks from a woman who had incubated eggs that were given to her and we have no idea what the breed or genders are of them. Any ideas?

Chick #6 (the black one)

My silkie that's been laying looks different than my other silkie. Right before she started laying she got plumper and her hips seem to be wider with a more pronounced waddle (like a penguin) when she walks. My other silkie is much thinner.
She is my only bantam (other than my other silkie) Her eggs are small, but as I'm new to chickens I wasn't sure if all chickens laid small eggs to start. Here's a picture of her eggs next to a grocery store one.
I was just wondering if it's normal for a silkie to lay an egg a day? I have 14 girls all different breeds 7 of which are 21 weeks. For the last 18 days someone has been laying an egg a day (only missed one day). At first I thought it was one of my golden comets or the Rhode Island red, but...
This is my first year raising chickens. I have 14 right now 7 of them are 18 weeks old and 7 of them are 13 weeks old. I wasn't expecting anyone to lay eggs yet, but today I noticed one in the coop and one in the run. Both eggs are roughly the same size, although one is a bit smaller, and...
I ended up putting a divider in the coop and run. My "confusion" was because when I google images of grow out pens it shows pens with no housing within the pen so I was wondering where people let their chickens sleep and if not in a coop in the pen, were they moving them manually from pen to...
