9 week old Easter Eggers. Hen or Roo?

I get it I get it, the ole hen or roo question that happens every single year. Except I am more stumped now then ever. Usually I can tell by 6 ish weeks what they are, but I am having trouble with one. I know the two darkest ones with the red combs are cockerels, especially the big boy because...

    Wry Neck?

Hi, everyone. This is my second go around with chicks, I raised 6 chicks last year, perfectly fine. I currently have 4 babies right now that are 5 weeks old. No issues until today when I picked them up. One of them, has her head constantly looking down, she won’t look up in the air like normal...

    Feather Picking HELP!

That’s another thing I am constantly doing. I throw grain grains out all the time, a few times a day. I throw them sunflower seeds, I put meal worms in little treat dispensing balls. They have so much room and the all stay right near each other and peck each other.

    Feather Picking HELP!

I’m having trouble trying to fix my chickens from picking the feathers off the other chickens. I only had 6 chickens and a big area for them to be in so I don’t think it’s because of overcrowding. I also have a high protein feed and I’ve been giving BOSS as well. I have tried blu kote...

This also makes me feel better to hear because I do want them to have a great life but I also want them to be safe where they don’t have to worry about being attacked.

    Part-time Free Ranging?

Beautiful birds and beautiful coop! Do you free range them 24/7 or only when you’re home? I guess if I really wanted to I could try it and if I have a hard time with hawks and lose too many of my birds I will know I either shouldn’t free range or make adjustments.

    Part-time Free Ranging?

Hi everyone. I was wondering if anyone could share their experiences on part time free ranging. I currently have a 8x10 shed for my chicken coop with an attached 20x8 run that is completely enclosed with netting over the top for hawks. They have mulch down in their run to scratch around in as I...

    Aggressive Cockerel

UPDATE: It has been done in the quickest most caring way it could have been. A very unfortunate situation but I look forward to enjoying my chickens again. Thank you everyone for your advice.

    Aggressive Cockerel
