    Flower pots! Large flower pots are great, so are old dog cages, small recycle bins etch, just make sure to but rocks at the bottom

    what the heck are my chickens doing?

    So I have 18 chickens and recently 3 of them have been acting strange around me. Every time I get near them the squat down and hunch what looks like their shoulder blades back and freeze, its the weirdest thing! Are they scared of me or something? They are 2 Rhode island reds and a Columbian rock

    Chickens never started laying? (April Born)

    Ive got 4 chickens born in march in my flock and only one has been laying (but she started yesterday!) it just takes a while for some chickens to start laying, if you live in a n area that gets less daylight this time of year try giving them some supplementary light.

    I have 18 chickens and they eat alot of feed, I've been thinking of freeranging them to reduce costs but I'm worried they might jump my fence, my fence is about three feet high and it surrounds about half an acre.
