I posted in the guinea thread but I am not getting a response.
I need to get a guinea or two because of ticks in our yard. I am not sure how I would introduce them and make them get along. I have done it with chickens and chickens, but I dont know much about guineas. Any suggestions?
Thanks!
I really need to get guineas for ticks. I have 4 chickens that are all sweeties and I want to get 2 full grown female guineas. What is the best course of action for me?
I had to give my girl lotramin the athletes foot stuff. It is a constant battle but she is still with me. I got the large equate version at walmart and give her 3 squirts a day into her mouth. I wrote on this extensively a few posts ago.
Miranda : she hates being away from her sister so she has been out eating what they eat. I found that since her case was so severe that it didnt matter what food I gave her. If you can isolate her and give her that diet then totally go for it.
Suze : her crop should be no bigger then a walnut...
No prob! I forgot to mention that when you give her the med to hold her in your lap in a towel. If u have trouble let me know and I can post a video for u to see how I do it.
You may want to try some BluKote. That will probably help. If you can get her on some antibiotics that would probably help. You should probably put some vicks vapo rub on the heads of the other chicks to prevent the other gals from attacking them. Hens can be jerks.
Oh sour crop, my mortal enemy!
I have been dealing with sour crop since FEBRUARY. Luckily my little lady is still alive and doing much better. I would first try to natural route, as it is better for them, but if it does not go away you may need to bring in the bigger guns to try it. You can...
Was her crop hard?
My girl still always eats even though she had a giant crop! Silly girl. I wouldnt worry about the color loss though, maybe just keep an eye out on it. Remember she hasnt eaten for a few days so she is still recovering her nutrients.
