Thank you , thank you! My Wife was positive they were all pullets. I was the one questioning them and my wife. Should have known better after 16 years married to her. First night in their coop last night. I was the only one worried all night. Thanks everyone.

Thank you, he is super good looking. I really wish he would just be a quite rooster so I could keep him. His dad is crazy pretty at the farm we got him from.

Can chicks eat too much food?

No poopy butts this morning and crops are not looking like golf balls! Was the issue really being to hot on the plate and not enough darkness? Either way, I appreciate everyone's insight. Here is to no warm towel butt wiping and happy chicks this morning 🍻

Can chicks eat too much food?

I did purchase the regular size shavings and not the fine. Thank you for the info on the crop being on the right side as that is where I see the largest part. I had my wife feel the crop that I am wondering about and she described it as more spongy than firm. Maybe I am worrying more than I...

I have been leaving a light on that is about 20ft away at night. Other than that it is pretty dark near the brooder. It is a clear bucket however so some light does get to them. At about 6AM I put the lights on in the kitchen and they stay on till about 8 or 9pm.

Can chicks eat too much food?

Last couple thoughts. Should their crops feel hard or soft when full? The second picture I posted that doesnt show the chicks face is pretty hard to the touch. The crop is larger on one side than the other and I can see part of the chicks skin because the crop is so big.

Can chicks eat too much food?

Awesome, Thank you for the info. I lowered the temp to hit 90 on the high end and put their food back in. They are pooping and vents are all clear. I just didn't want them to explode or something.

Can chicks eat too much food?

I tried to get a couple pictures. The chick in the really close picture just took a poo and it was more watery than normal. The temp of the warming plate goes between 104-107.
